Clay shooting for Christmas eve

J and I headed over to Fennes in Braintree today to shoot some clays and it was great.

We started with a skeet round as I’d had a taste at Eriswell Lodge and it’s definitely something I want to do again. It was close, and there’s definite room for improvement, but I shot well and pipped J by 1.

Next we did a reduced sporting compak (4 out of 5 stands) and that was hard! They were all very long shots and I need a lot of practice.

And finally we just picked some of the stands around the ground for a mix of practice and fun. And it was fun – no pressure, the sun was shining, lovely and warm and just great to spend some time together. Definitely a new Christmas eve tradition.
